Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari on Thursday dedicated Delhi-Meerut Expressway (DME) to the public.

The Delhi-Meerut Expressway is 82 kilometres which connects Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to Meerut.

During the inauguration of the event, Japanese envoy Satoshi Suzuki, MP V.K. Singh, and officials, among others, were also present.

The ‘Intelligent Traffic System Control Room’, to monitor the Eastern peripheral expressway and DME for the public to enjoy a safe journey was also inaugurated by the Union Minister. This system has been installed to reduce the accident rate on the expressway.

In addition to it, 150 cameras have also been installed on the expressway to monitor the accidents and the commuters driving on the wrong side.

While addressing to the people, Mr. Gadkari, elaborated that the Government has constructed the highways using the latest state-of-the-art technology.
