Four staff of a government hospital received a notice from the commissioner of Bellampally Municipal Council in Mancherial District, Telangana, for skipping the birthday celebrations for Telangana Municipal Minister KT Rama Rao in July 24, 2022. Within 24 hours of receiving the warning, the employees were required to explain their absence on that particular occasion.

“With reference to the above cited, regarding the birthday celebrations of Hon’ble Municipal Minister Sri K. Taraka Rama Rao were held on 24.07.2022 at Bellampally Government Hospital at 10.00 AM,” according to the note written by Municipal Commissioner Gopu Gangadhar Via WhatsApp message, the entire office staff was informed to attend. However, the memo was produced as a result of the below-average attendance of the employees because the message was ignored. Smt. T. Rajeshwari, Senior Assistant, Sri S. PunnamChander, Junior Assistant, Sri A. Mohan, System Manager, and Shravan, Bill Collector are the four employees named in the note. The first three names were listed in the note, but Shravan, the fourth name, was added later in handwriting.

The letter added further, “In this connection, so why action should not be taken against you for not attending the above-mentioned event? You can reply to this memo within (24) hours after touching it. Otherwise, disciplinary, action will be taken against you and your superiors will be informed if you do not respond to this memo.”

To celebrate Municipal Minister KTR’s birthday, a party was organized at the government hospital in Bellampalli on July 24. All office workers were sent a WhatsApp message inviting them to the event. The notice, according to the Municipal Council’s office, was ignored, and four staff skipped the event.
