The court on Sunday sent Irfan Khan, the primary suspect in the murder of chemist Umesh Kolhe in Amravati, Maharashtra, to police detention till July 7. The police revealed his connection to Pakistan after his detention.

The results of the investigation showed that Irfan Khan, a school dropout, operated the Rahbaria Foundation in Amravati with financing from Pakistan and the Arab world and provided timely ambulance service to the underprivileged members of the Muslim community. There are reports of 21 people being connected to his NGO’s helpline. Others allegedly involved in the murder were also associated with this NGO.

He is accused of instigating the others to murder Umesh Kolhe. Irfan also wrote a letter to PMO earlier to boycott french goods after hearing France’s President Macron’s words on fundamentalism.

The National Investigation Agency filed a report in this case and informed authorities that there was a plan to target a particular region of the nation. According to the TV 9 story, Sheikh Irfan, the murder’s mastermind, lured the other suspects to their deaths by offering them 10,000 rupees.

Apart from Irfan, 7 arrests have been made in this case so far. They have been identified as Mudassir Ahmed (22), Shahrukh Pathan (25), Abdul Tawfiq (24), Shoaib Khan (22), Atib Rashid (22) and Yusuf Khan Bahadur Khan (44). A case has been registered against these people under sections 302, 120 and 109 of the IPC. The deceased’s family has requested that the case be moved up the court’s priority list. The deceased’s brother further revealed that Umesh Kolhe and Veterinary Doctor Yusuf were good friends, and that Yusuf is one of the suspects who has been apprehended by the police. His relatives knew him between 2006 and 2007. Kolhe’s tweet was allegedly shared by Yusuf in a dubious WhatsApp group.

When questioned if there was any outside connection to the death of a chemist in Amravati, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated: He claimed that it has been observed that some foreign powers are attempting to raise the nation’s level of anxiety. These will all be examined. Why was the case initially depicted as a robbery? It will also be investigated.

The Deputy CM said that this incident is barbaric. Umesh was killed very brutally. The accused were caught, NIA is investigating. Let us inform that the police has also said in this case that so far 7 people have been arrested but this number may increase further.
