Rana Ayyub claims to be an investigative journalist, was associated with once famous Tehelka, a pioneer sting operation media company in India. She claimed, a report she once did on Gujarat was responsible for Amit Shah being jailed in 2010. She has reported on religious violence, extrajudicial killings by the state and insurgency. She regularly writes for some portal called The Washington Post.

More than that for her Sucularim always the priority when she talks about the other religions and but when it comes to her religion, all go different. What is her recent scam

Her recent was related to fundraisers from foreign donors. To support the COVID-affected people, she started a campaign through Ketto. All went well for them in terms of donation and collections. But when Ketto went Global for donation, the new policy stopped them. To understand it well see the below explanation on rules and regulation and how Ketto violated them in the fundraising campaign.

How the issue raised

On social media, a receipt of Ketto was viral by the donor. According to the receipt, the funds would go to a person’s account, and the donations are not eligible for a tax deduction. It means it has no registered Trust or Organization. Ayyub was accepting the funds in her personal account.

Rules and amendment on FCRA

The FCRA laws mention clearly that in order to receive foreign funds, one has to either register her organization and get an FCRA certificate or one has to receive prior permission from relevant authorities. According to the recent amendments in FCRA laws, no FCRA registered organization can collect foreign funds for a non-FCRA organization.

The explanations coame from her

Rana Ayyub said on the Ketto page of the fundraiser, “As far as the foreign donations are concerned, we had decided to tie-up with an Indian NGO with FCRA that could help us provide medical equipment to hospitals in rural India, but owing to restrictions on physical movement during the pandemic and the lockdowns, we have not been able to find a suitable donor to trust to channelize the benevolence.

While we were talking to prospective NGO’s , a malicious campaign was unleashed on social media along with hitjobs by propaganda websites targeting our relief work and the donations from foreign donors. As a journalist who values her integrity and the trust placed by my readers and followers, we have always made sure that me and my team stay on the right side of the law and be compliant with the extant Indian tax and regulatory laws.

Repercussion of the complain or allegiation by the donors

The fundraiser ended on the 28th of May, 2021. Now they will refund all contributions from foreign donors back to those who donated.

As per the information shared in the different new websites, it is indicating that it was a clear violation of FCRA laws. Some questions should be asked to the team and the leader Rana Ayyub who alleged to do fraudulent activities –

As she said, she is complaint with the extant Indian tax and regulatory laws, then why she arranged such a campaign without the proper arrangemnt and keeping the law in the view?

On what groung she accepted the donation to her personal account?

If you are doing everything fair and as per the policy , then why to refund the donation and Is it just to avoid the legal action from the Law & Order ministry?

Where the donations were utilized till now and was it on humanitarian ground or relegious sentiments?

Do you have a proper accounts on fundraisers campaign which was ended on 25th of September, 2020?

Why the page of the other fundraiser has been removed by Ketto?
