On Thursday, the Sarva Brahmin Mahasabha sent a warning to Om Raut, the director of the Prabhas and Kriti Sanon-starring movie “Adipurush,” demanding that he take down contentious sequences from the picture within seven days or face legal repercussions.

On behalf of Sarva Brahmin Mahasabha National President Pt. Suresh Mishra and attorney Kamlesh Sharma sent the notification.

The notice reads, “The depiction of Hindu Gods and Goddesses is being done in a wrong way in this film. In this film, Hindu Gods and Goddesses are shown in a very distorted form, wearing leather clothes and being seen speaking indecently. In fact, very low-level language is used in the film which provokes and hurts religious sentiments. There are dialogues and depictions spreading religious and caste hatred in the film. Ramayana is our history and our spirit, however, in Adipurush, Lord Hanuman is shown as a Mughal.”

The notice added, “Which Hindu bears a beard without a mustache that Lord Hanumanji has been shown to do.”

This movie completely Islamizes the Ramayana, Maa Sita, and Lord Hanuman. Even Saif Ali Khan, who plays Ravana in the Adipurush film, has a similar appearance to Taimur and Khilji. The movie will inflame religious sentiments in the nation and sow the seeds of enmity among a specific class. The Internet is being used extensively to spread this image, which is utterly detrimental to our culture and nation.

“You are making a film that hurts the sentiments of crores of Hindus,” the notice said. It added, “You are requested not to play with the sentiments of the people, do not stigmatize the faith of the people, and depict the film as it is depicted in Ramayana and RamcharitManas.”

As a result, a legal notification was sent, requesting that all conversation illustrations are deleted and a public apology for the aforesaid crimes made within seven days, or else legal action would be pursued.
