A large section of us recognize 'Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram' as a notable devotional song, that was widely popularised by Mahatma Gandhi, making it historically significant. What is not recognized is that it is also called Ram Dhun, excerpted from Shri Nama Ramayan, composed by Shri Lakshmanacharya, a poet and Vishnu devotee.

Gandhi’s Bhajan mixed with his keen political interest..

“Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram”

Bhajan from Nama Ramayan written by Shri Lakshmanacharya

Original Bhajan was tempered by ‘Mahatma’ Gandhi to suit his political interests and create a false notion of secularism.

Tempered version which includes “Ishwar Allah Tero Naam” , has been popularized by Gandhis, Islamists and so called ‘Seculars’ of India.

Gandhi Removed, “Ganga Tulsi Salagram”, Because of Salagrama’s association with Vaishnavism and Hindu rituals.

He removed, “Bhadra Girishwara”, as the line refers to “Shri Ram as Lord of Bhadrachalam”.

He removed the line, “Sundara Vigraha Meghashyam”, as Shri Ram was depicted as Meghashyam which did not go well with his Monotheist formless God.

Original Bhajan..

~ Shri Lakshmanacharya

Mahatma Gandhi was known for the fusion of music, prayers, hymns with political ideologies, and it was during the Dandi March in 1930 that he is believed to have incorporated this chant to promote false notion of Secularism and associated it with our freedom struggle.
The entire hymn was not preserved and largely remains unknown. It is vital that we acknowledge the original one.

This is what Wikipedia say about it.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raghupati_Raghava_Raja_Ram
