A petition by Vishnu Harishankar Jain seeking ownership of 13.37 acres of Krishna Janmabhoomi land and removal of Shahi Idgah Masjid from the Krishna Janmabhoomi was filed in the Mathura District Court on the heels of the verdict in the Ram Janmabhoomi case by the Supreme Court in 2019.

The petition sought the removal of the Shahi Idgah mosque built by Aurangzeb in the 17th Century by demolishing an ancient temple marking the birth place of Bhagwan Shri Krisha.

Today in the District Judge, Mathura would hear the revision case in the matter. The arguments by the defendants, Shahi Idgah Mosque would be presented today.

In the hearing on 18 th January, Shahi Masjid side opposed the petitioner Shri Krishna Virajman’s appeal and insisted that the Appeal should be converted in to Revision which was accepted by the court.

Notably, Advocate Ranjana Agnihotri intervened in the petition as a Bhakta of Sri Krishna Virajman on 25 December 2020 and sought for the nullification of the compromise with Shahi Idgah in 1967 which was later converted in to a court decree. It prayed that after nullification of the said decree of compromise, the disputed 13.37 acres Katara Keshavdev land be handed over to Shri Krishna Virajman.

In this petition, the Secretary of the UP Sunni Central Waqf Board, Secretary of Shahi Idgah Masjid, The Janmabhoomi’s Trust ‘s Trustee and Shri Krishna Seva Sansthan have also been made the necessary parties.

It is hoped that justice prevails, the strong sense of hurt felt by generations of Hindus for the past 400 years is assuaged and Hindus get to worship their Aradhya Dev and the holy land which marks the birthplace of Bhagwan Shri Krishna by removal of the blighted mosque built by barbaric tyrant Aurangzeb.
