The Indian Army and the Indian Defense Research Organization (DRDO) successfully test-fired Pinaka missiles from many places in the country in the last 15 days. Altogether 24 tests have been conducted. In these tests, the Pinaka missile destroyed the target with complete accuracy and speed and had met the set standards.

The Pinaka Mk-1 (Enhanced) Rocket System and Pinaka Area Denial Munition (ADM) rocket system were successfully test fired. Both these technologies are a new version of the Pinaka missile system. This increases its flight capability, navigation, accuracy and speed.

Radar, electro-optical targeting system and telemetry system, etc. were monitored from the launch of Pinaka to hitting the target. All the systems of this missile successfully exceeded the set standards and destroyed the target with the highest accuracy. This missile is named after the bow ‘Pinaka’ of Lord Shiva.

Let us tell you that Pinaka missile system launches 12 missiles in 44 seconds. That is, about every 4 seconds a missile is fired. 12 Pinaka rockets can be fired one after the other from this 214 caliber launcher. That is, it is the best weapon to convert the enemy’s hideout into a graveyard. The range of the rocket launcher is 7 km from the nearest target and can destroy the enemy sitting 90 km away.

There are three variants of Rocket Launcher. MK-1 This is for 40 km attack. The MK-2 launcher can attack up to 90 km and the MK-3 (under construction) launcher can attack up to 120 km. The length of this launcher ranges from 16 feet 3 inches to 23 feet 7 inches. Its diameter is 8.4 inches. High Explosive Fragmentation (HMX), cluster bombs, anti-personal, anti-tank and landmines can be mounted on top of the Pinaka rocket to be fired from this launcher. These rockets are capable of lifting weapons weighing up to 100 kg. This missile system was started in 1986.

The speed of Pinaka rocket is 5757.70 kilometers per hour. That is, it attacks at a speed of 1.61 km in a second. The enemy does not even get a chance to run away from the target. Pinaka Rocket is a Multi Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL). It has been made by DRDO for the Indian Army.

Army sources said that the Pinaka regiment will be deployed along the China and Pakistan border to enhance the operational preparedness of the armed forces. BEML will supply such vehicles on which the rocket launcher will be mounted. The Defense Ministry said that the 6 Pinaka Regiment will also have 114 launchers, 45 command posts with ‘Automated Gun Aiming and Positioning System’. The missile regiment is planned to start operations by 2024.

During the Kargil war, this missile was loaded on a tatra truck and sent to the high altitude areas. There this rocket blew up enemy positions. All Pakistani enemies had to flee their bunkers built on the mountain or were killed. Because this rocket attacks at such a speed that the enemy does not get a chance to recover.
