Terrorist Prof Altaf Hussain Pandit widely known with the title ‘ Geelani of Kashmir University’ is sacked from his job on Friday over terror links. Altaf Hussain Pandit who was the Chemistry professor of Kashmir University, Mohd Maqbool Hajam, a teacher in the School Education department and Ghulam Rasool, a Jammu & Kashmir Police constable all three were terminated from govt service over terror links. Altaf Hussain Pandit was an active terrorist associated with JKLF from 1990 to 1993 and also orchestrated several student protests against the Indian State, including in the aftermath of killing of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani in 2016.

As per sources Prof. Altaf Hussain Pandit is associated with Jamaat-e-Islam, he crossed over to Pakistan for terror training & worked as a terror recruiter. He organized stone pelting & violent protests against killing of terrorists in 2011 and 2014. Under Article 311 (2) C, the J&K government’s designated committee was scrutinizing cases on separatists active in the state. The committee recommended Pandit’s termination after it was found that he did not go the formal character and antecedent verification which is a mandatory requirement for government employees joining the service. A senior officer revealed that Altaf Hussain Pandit was one of the several others who managed to enter the public employment system despite challenging the security of the state because the system itself had become heavily contaminated.
