On Wednesday, Hardeep S Puri, the Union Minister for Urban Development, recently called the Rohingya people refugees and allotted them EWS apartments in Bakkarwala, Delhi which led to an online uproar accusing the party of compromising on its ideology for vote bank. Shri Alok Kumar, the international working president of Vishva Hindu Parishad and a renowned lawyer, expressed shock at this statement. He said that they are surprised and heartbroken by the announcement.
He stated, “We might bring up for Mr. Puri the parliamentary declaration made by Union Home Minister Sh. Amit Shah on December 10, 2020, that Rohingyas will never be accepted in India (Rohingya ko Kabhi Bhi sweekar Nahi Kiya jaega).” The government of India has consistently maintained, as seen by its affidavit submitted to the Honourable Supreme Court, that Rohingyas are not refugees but infiltrators, Shri Alok Kumar further added.
He continued, “The bounty intended to be bestowed on the Rohingyas makes it more awful because the Hindu Refugees from Pakistan continue to dwell in appalling subhuman conditions in Majnu-ka-Tila district of Delhi.”
The VHP implores the Government of India to reevaluate this matter and make preparations to send the Rohingyas back and push them out of India rather than giving them residences.
