It has been 33 years of the Abohar massacre of Punjabi Hindus. Around 6.30 pm, Khalistan Commando Force began firing indiscriminately into the market,& killed 22 Hindus on the spot. When some people rushed to the only police station in Abohar, the gates were shut for 40 minutes.

Things didn’t stop here. Due to a lack of resources, the people were taking the injured people in carts and lining up in the hospital to donate blood. Two more blasts happened, and more people were killed, many sustained severe injuries, lost their limbs & body parts. This incident ruined 33 Hindu families, killed more than 33 Hindus & injured 45 Hindus. All the vic tims were Hindus and most were shopkeepers. Abohar, was/is a predominantly Hindu town. Police came out from the police station after 40 minutes, till then all 10 KCF were already fled. However, only one out of 10 Khalistanis involved in the Abohar Hindu Massacre was later killed by DSP Surjit Singh Grewal on March 12, 1993, after making a big plot. Chanan Singh was killed by the DSP when he came to attend the marriage of a family member.
