Rutgers University [“professor”] Audrey Truschke who had accused historian [Dr.] Vikram Sampath of plagiarism for his works on Veer Savarkar on Twitter will now have to delete those tweets.

The Delhi High Court on Thursday (24 February) gave direction to social networking platform Twitter to take down five tweets of Audrey Truschke against historian Vikram Sampath.

Audrey Truschke is a [jihadi supporter and genocide maniac] Aurengazb apologist and the order was passed by Delhi High Court headed by a single bench of Justice Amit Bansal on a plea filed by Sampath who is Rs 2 crore in damages from Truschke and two others, reports Bar and Bench.

In his plea, Sampath had also sought a permanent injunction on publication of the letter dated 11 February written by Truschke, Ananya Chakravarti, and Rohit Chopra to Britain’s Royal Historical Society (RHS) President Emma Griffin.

Lawyer Raghav Awasthi who is representing Vikram Sampath said that his client has faced a barrage of online attacks while the new tweets against Sampath also directly attack the authority of the court.
