Taliban official Mufti Abdul Hakim advised the Islamic Emirate to purge its ranks of those who support Pakistan in order to prevent Afghanistan from falling into international isolation.
He stated that the government agencies under the Taliban administration are populated by individuals who are either Pakistani citizens or have close relations to Pakistan. The Taliban will become even more isolated if they don’t purge their ranks of supporters of Pakistan, according to South Asia Media Research Institute (SAMRI). During a conversation on Shamshad TV, he acknowledged this problem and asserted that the Taliban may become isolated if their stance is not changed towards Pakistanis and those pledged allegiance to Pakistan.
Notably, Pakistan and the Taliban, who are bothies, are at odds. Pakistan made a strategic error by believing that the Taliban, which it assisted in fighting a US-backed Afghanistan for more than two decades, would carry out its demands. Not only this, Taliban led Afghanistan increased the price of fuel when Pakistan government passed ordinance to buy oil from Afghanistan.
According to the Afghan Diaspora Network, both allies are at odds, raising the prospect of a violent confrontation along the Durand Line.
The recent border tensions between both the Islamic nations have worsened their strategic relationship, which is currently governed by the Taliban. Several videos from a border confrontation in the Balochistan and Nimroz provinces of two countries surfaced last month.
Afghanistan would not permit any other nation to operate forcefully against its interests, according to the Taliban’s newly appointed Minister of Defense. The Taliban regime’s refusal to recognise the status of the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan has plainly revealed the fissures in the two nations’ relationship. So yet, the Taliban has showed no signs of giving in to these requests. Rather, they have repeatedly rejected Pakistan’s demands, notably the one to recognise the Durand Line.
