Jane Fonda, a celebrity best known for fraternizing with enemy troops during the Vietnam War has come under fire after calling coronavirus “God’s Gift to the left.”

“I just think COVID is God’s gift to the left,” Fonda said. “That’s a terrible thing to say. I think it was a very difficult think to send down to us, but it has ripped the band-aid off who Trump is and what he stands for and what is being done to average people and working people in this country.”

Social media users quickly lambasted the video, flooding Twitter with negative reactions.

Fonda has a history of raising speculation about her loyalty to America.

In 1972, Fonda traveled to North Vietnam to participate in an anti-war protest and posed with enemy troops on an anti-aircraft gun used to shoot down American pilots. She called our prisoners of war hypocrites and liars and referred to their torture as ‘understandable’.

Fonda sparked outrage among veterans, earning her the nickname ‘Hanoi Jane.’
