Oprah, Equality Labs, and Democrats: How they supported the Caste Attack on the Unsuspecting Indian American

What Should the Indian Americans do?…..

Oprah Winfrey a supporter of Obama in 2008 has now become the face of the Caste 2020 movement in the USA.

Anyone who introduces an atavistic idea like ‘Caste’, an idea alien to both India and the US, an idea that was part of the “Scientific Racism’ of Colonial regimes, and which brings alive memories of rampant discrimination; anyone who does that is obviously no friend of the American citizenry or the American polity. Such entities need to be viewed with suspicion.

…Play the game or Sleep with the enemy?

The Equality Labs Caste Report and its direct attack on Hinduism should wake us up to the appalling reality of how we are caught unawares while sleeping with the enemy. This is an UNEQUAL BATTLE between a flush and well-funded, focused team and a soporific apolitical and very gullible Indian American community, who has just entered the field with no gear and no awareness of the rules of the game.

…. or Stand up to the bully?

This is a Goliath that has been plotting for a while, armed to the hilt attacking a David sitting quietly in a library reading his biased Hinduphobic textbooks, completely guilt-ridden of his mistaken and misshapen Hindu identity. Will proverbial David ever win this time, given that Goliath is not blind as a bat unlike Gladwell’s eloquent narrative and like Equality Labs has shown amply? They are well-prepared, well-armed, visible to all, audible to all, and clearly well-entrenched politically, socially, and in media networks.

…..Or sit laughing at the bonfire of an anecdotal Equality Labs survey?

At the outset, the Equality Labs survey and their Caste report do not match up to academic standards of methodology or research design. If they did not have the money to support the media narrative, and wake up the woke Oprah monolith, then we could have had a good laugh at the silly anecdotes of their report, or NPR’s false and biased anti-Brahman stories and warmed ourselves on a bonfire of their silly questionnaire even!

But the dangerous fact is that this 52-page report and its falsehoods are being taken seriously in newsrooms and are targeting the egalitarian and democratic ethos of two civilizations at one go!

The ‘Caste’ report attacks the largest democracy in the world, India by ignoring its modern outlook, its affirmative action, and its existence as the only democracy in a region surrounded by theocracies and socialist, autocratic regimes.

…and understand the implications of tampering with the American dream?

The Equality Labs ‘Caste’ report introduces a regressive approach to Casteist politics in a place that thrives on principles of meritocracy, discipline, and hard work.

The question is, is Equality Labs targeting the US melting pot of cultures, to reduce it to ideals of foreign imports? Is it playing the same game of ‘Scientific Racism’ played by Herbert Hope Risley in the 1800s and 1900s, which notoriously inculcated prejudiced colonizing concepts into innocent indigenous populations of India?

Scientific Racism has been banned by the UN and any attempt to equate Race and Varna, Race and Jati, or Jati and Varna and Color of skin is not just erroneous logic, it’s also a huge slur on the Hindu religion and community and its centuries-old civilizational values. It is not a coincidence that the economic growth in Silicon Valley, the development of its entrepreneurial capital, and big tech has been directly proportional to the growth of Indian techies migrating to the USA on work visas. In fact, these two go hand in hand and Silicon Valley’s success rests on the shoulders of these techies and technocrats.

Hence a systemic attack on the Indian Americans in Silicon Valley by creating a false narrative of Caste is a direct attack on the success and stability of the computer and information technology corporations in California and hence on the economic well-being of the United States of America.

…and be politically aware of the pitfalls of socialist and communist policies that are seeping into states like California and New York and Washington

California has moved on from Reaganomics, many years ago. Its large immigrant population is liberal left-leaning and has voted for the Democratic party with numbing regularity. The takeover of the Democrat party by far-left liberal and foreign-funded lobbies is hidden in plain sight for all to see.

What are we to expect now?

Is this so-called “progressive” socialistic politics of failed regimes, being transplanted into the United States?

Where will this end? Is ‘Caste’ a Portuguese word and a colonial imposition, going to become part of our jurisprudence just because Oprah Winfrey likes it for unknown reasons?

Are we going to see the sinister plot of ‘Caste’ reservations continue to seep into the US politics and social ethos, a country where hard work, liberty and justice, and the glorious American Dream remain the driving force of all Americans whether immigrant or citizen?

Are our children supposed to be brought up under the psychosis of such attacks, where schools discuss ‘Caste’ as if it is a mainstream issue in our post-modern world? Where children are force-fed discourses and narratives on ‘Caste’ politics, a foreign construct?

This is not a question of one case against Cisco by the STATE of CALIFORNIA, this is a question of a civilizational construct, of an attack on the social and human capital of silicon valley and, this is a question of our generations to come. If the state machinery is turning against its own corporations and conniving in building this narrative, then Indian Americans need to rethink their historic affiliations with the media they read and watch and the political parties they supported.

While late-night shows and the auctioned media houses, all driven by private equity are laughing all the way to the bank, the question every citizen of the United States of America needs to ask is, “Is America being changed fundamentally to a state that is further away from our founding principles?” Are we losing grip to some foreign ideas of socialist forces capturing the Capitalist economics of our country, in the garb of “progressive” politics?’

..and understand that the rioting and theological culture promoted by the Democrats today are part of woke liberalism leading to  Cancel Culture

If these are the same groups that are plundering and looting and rioting and murdering in the name of “Black Lives Matter” and Race rifts; if these are the same groups that are simultaneously asking for police defunding; if these are the same groups attacking India on CAA , Kashmir and now on Caste, then we as Indian Americans need to look in the mirror and ask ourselves one question.

That question is : If the Democrat party is the one that supports these “woke movements” and the Democrat VP nominee Kamala Harris is the one who says ” these riots are not going to stop” and if the Presidential nominee Biden calls for teaching theology in American Public schools especially “confessional faiths like Islam” ; if all this is true then where do we as Indian Americans or as Hindu Americans fit into the grand scheme of the Democrat narrative?

…and see that Hanuman in his pocket does not stop Reproach on his lips…

Are we just getting caught up in the name Kamala just as we got super excited with Obama carrying a Hanuman keychain in his pocket while proclaiming that “Indian Occupied Kashmir is the most dangerous place on earth“? Let’s not forget he said this at a time when American soldiers were coming back with blown-out limbs from Afghanistan and Iraq and when Pakistan was hiding Osama bin Laden.

Oprah who supported Obama has also become the face of the Caste movement in the USA. ‘Caste’ has no room in the US and anyone who introduces an atavistic idea like ‘Caste’, an idea alien to both India and the US, an idea that was part of the “Scientific Racism’ of Colonial regimes, and which brings alive memories of rampant discrimination; anyone who does that is obviously no friend of the American citizenry or the American polity. Such entities need to be viewed with suspicion.

The Indian American is an integral part of building the American Dream and living it. We cannot succumb to the strong push of the fakeness and wokeness and Cancel Culture of the current socialist and communist movements promoted by the Democrats and the likes of Oprah Winfrey who stand for nothing but the latest fad.

…and we need to play the political game on the right side and stop sleeping with the enemy,
