After Haryana and Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh govt. decided to make movie ‘The Kashmir Files’ tax free.Once in a lifetime movie ‘The Kashmir Files’ made by director Vivek Agnihotri got released on 11th of March. The Movie ‘The Kashmir Files’ describes and is based on the genocide and persecution of Kashmiri Pandits by Islamists in the valley. The movie bravely and successfully puts the pain of Kashmiri Pandits in front of the people of Bharat.
As the movie shows the reality and truth of Kashmir which no other film had the guts to show, three of the state governments in Bharat, Haryana and Gujrat has come forward to make the movie of Vivek Agnihotri “The Kashmir Files” tax free. All the three governments of Haryana, Gujrat and Madhya Pradesh has decided to make the film tax-free in the state, and no state GST will be charged on the film. Also it is With the state waiving off its share of the tax, the price for tickets should come down by 9% in the state. The total GST on entertainment is 18%, with the other 9% by Center Government.
Earlier it was the governments of Haryana and Gujarat who made this decision. Now Madhya Pradesh govt led by Shivraj Chouhan also came up to join the queue. The chief minister of Madhya Pradesh wrote “Movie #TheKashmirFiles is heart-wrenching narration of the pain, suffering, struggle, and trauma faced by Kashmiri Hindus in the 90s.This needs to be watched by maximum people, hence we have decided to make it a tax-free in the state of Madhya Pradesh.”
Everyone must go to watch the beautiful movie showing reality with courage. As J Sai Deepak said “If you believe that you don’t have the guts to watch this movie,effectively you have lost the right to opine on this Civilisation.If you can’t even watch,you can’t be expected to stand up for the Civilisation when the time comes. So grow a spine, watch, internalise & channel.”
