The United Nations has released a report on the security situation in the Indian subcontinent, in which shocking claims have been made. The 13th report named Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) has been released. It claimed that al-Qaeda and Islamic State (ISIS) have a presence in Afghanistan and that these terror groups are focusing on terrorizing Kashmir.
On Saturday, 28th of May, the 13th report of the ‘Analytical Assistance and Sanctions Monitoring Group’ on the Taliban and other affiliated individuals and entities was presented in accordance with ‘Resolution 2611 (2021)’. In this, these organizations have been described as a threat to the peace and security of Afghanistan.According to this, AQIS (Al Qaeda In Indian Sub Continent) is maintaining its base in Afghanistan, where 180 to 400 of its fighters are present. All of them are located in Ghazni, Helmand, Kandahar, Nimruj, Paktika and Jabul provinces. These fighters include citizens of Bangladesh, India, Myanmar and Pakistan.
According to the UN report, now terrorist organizations have changed the name of their magazine 2020 from ‘Nawa-e-Afghan Jihad’ to ‘Nawa-e-Ghazwa-e-Hind’. This is so that AQIS can be refocused from Afghanistan to Kashmir. In addition, since the Taliban occupation in Afghanistan, drug smuggling has increased.
