With the number of grooming jihad growing exponentially in India, another case of grooming-love jihad has come to light where a 21 year old Mohammad Amir has been arrested from Nehtaur in UP’s Bijnor for extorting money from minor girls by threatening to defame them with inappropriate videos of the girls after sexually luring them.

The Delhi Police has registered a case under Section 387 of the IPC and POCSO Act aginst Mohammad Amir on the matter.

The ANI reports that a complaint was received at Alipur police station in Delhi from a 13 year old victim girl’s mother stating that her daughter accepted a friend request of an unkown person on Instagram.

Rajiv Ranjan Singh, DCP Outer North district, Delhi reportedly said that the accused, Mohammad Amir was a trainee in a Saloon at Nehtaur in Bijnor, UP and used to make friendship with unknown girls in Instagram.

Singh said, that he represented himself as a person hailing from a good family to the young girls. He took them in confidence and later lured them to send their naked videos on his mobile. Thereafter, he would start threatening them to make the nude videos viral on social media and extort money from them.

The Delhi police has confiscated his mobile phone and further investigating the case.

It is pertinent to note there is an increasing number of incidences in India where Muslim men, organised or lone wolves, would lure young Hindu and nono-Muslim girls in love-affairs, sexually exploit them and later extort money and even threaten them to convert to Islam. And in many cases, when the girls resisted, they have been brutally attacked and even murdered. Many grooming gangs even force the entrapped young women into prostitution and many others in Kerala have been drafted into the ISIS by radical Islamists organisations. The PFI has been accused of systematically promoting and sponsoring love Jihad in Kerala and other southern states.

In Delhi with the Aam Aadmi Party being in power, there is no law against grooming jihad or love jihad, so the perpetrators can be booked only under IPC and POCSO.
