While speaking to the Emgage Action’s Million Muslim Voters Summit, Joe Biden told the group yesterday that “look, one of the things I think is important, I wish — I wish we taught more in our schools about the Islamic faith. I wish we talked about all the great confessional faiths. It’s one of the great confessional faiths. And what people don’t realize is — one of my avocations is theology — don’t realize is we all come from the same root here in terms of our fundamental basic beliefs.” 

The 36-year politician added that he would end President Trump’s travel restrictions targeting Muslim nations on the first day of his administration should he win the White House on November 3.

The travel ban signed by President Trump in January 2017 blocks some immigrants and travelers from Iran, Libya, Somalia, North Korea, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen.

“I’ll be a president who seeks out, listens to and incorporates the ideas and concerns of Muslim Americans on everyday issues,” says Biden.

Emgage Action, the largest Muslim political group in the country has committed to turning out one million Muslim voters for Joe Biden.
