The Special Task Force (STF) detained a Chinese national named Johnson (age 27), who operated a pub-bar-casino in Greater Noida, on Wednesday. Along with his three other companions, Johnson was detained. Furthermore, 14 more Chinese nationals, including a woman, have been detained by the Uttar Pradesh police. These Chinese nationals were living illegally in India since 2020.
Meanwhile, the Noida division of the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force has apprehended four Chinese nationals. They were all working together with Chinese national Xue Fei (36), who despite having an expired visa, was running an unauthorised club cum guest house in a village outside of Greater Noida. Sources claim that the accused worked for Fei in a hawala ring.
The four suspects that were taken into custody are Ryan, Zeng Haozhe, Zeng Deye, and Johnson. Johnson is Ravi Natwarlal’s business partner; he was the owner of the guest house where Xue Fei was detained. The four Chinese individuals that were detained were all illegally residing in India. Since two Chinese nationals who spent 18 days in the same guest house were apprehended at the Nepal border without a visa, Johnson has been evading capture.
Johnson resided in the guest house with his Indian-Northeast lover. Johnson used his girlfriend to manage his bank account. He will now be placed on remand and questioned by the STF. Amar Ujala reported that Johnson had inadvertently neglected to bring a visa before fleeing.
He attempted to flee across the border from India to China or any other nation in this situation, but the STF arrested him.
It was discovered during a raid by Noida Police on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, that the building was a Chinese-only club in Gharbara village. This club served as a meeting place and shelter for around 20 Chinese nationals living illegally in India. The three Indian associates of the imprisoned Chinese national are being sought by the authorities. It includes Ravi Natwarlal. He was one of the Indians who signed the lease for the club’s premises, according to Fei, who has frequently mentioned him. Johnson, who was just taken into custody, was Ravi Natwarlal and Xue Fei’s partner.
A woman and 14 other Chinese nationals were detained on Wednesday for allegedly residing illegally in the country since 2020. They all had valid passports and worked for a private company in Noida Phase 2, but their business visas had already run out.
The 14 Chinese nationals were taken into custody by the Sector 49 police station team, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Noida) Rajesh S. The local intelligence team knew they had overstayed their visas, which were set to expire in 2020. The detained individuals, according to the DCP, are unrelated to the Greater Noida investigation.
Police have named the detained Chinese nationals as Junhui Yin, Chuanliu Gong, Honglin Qi, Shilong Gang, Jintao Zhang, Tan Yang, Xiaogang Zhao, Yingli Zhang, Zhi Liu, Tao Wang, Dao Lin Zhang, Zhixiao Pan, and Huang Yingjie, according to an article by India TV News. The sole woman being held by the authorities, in this case, is Feiyan Tang.
