Ex-Muslims of North America unveils a first-of-its-kind tool designed to catalog global incidents of violence and persecution against religious minorities and freethinkers at the hands of states and Muslim extremists.
The ‘Persecution Tracker’ (https://persecution.exmuslims.org) will be a comprehensive warehouse of detailed accounts of persecution, bringing together information from varied sources such as news reports, social media, and original interviews. Information will also be gathered from non-English sources, such as Arabic and Urdu, and verified by a dedicated research team.
“Too often, the humanity of the victims of religious intolerance are lost among statistics. Our focus, therefore, is highly personal,” said Sarah Haider, Executive Director of Ex-Muslims of North America. “With this project, we will give detailed accounts of each case to ensure that their suffering will not be forgotten and their heroism will not be in vain.”
Ex-Muslims of North America believes this tool will be indispensable for ex-Muslim activists and the broader secular community in advocating against blasphemy laws internationally.
Ex-Muslims of North America (EXMNA) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit which advocates for acceptance of religious dissent, promotes secular values, and aims to reduce discrimination faced by those who leave Islam.
