The Church conversion mafia, which worked very clandestinely earlier has started to operate very dictatorially in Andhra Pradesh since the Jagan Mohan Reddy government assumed power in 2018. The brazenness with which conversions and Church planting activities are being carried out in Andhra Pradesh is simply astounding. Hindus in remote villages who resist these nefarious activities are being threatened of physical harm and even getting false criminal cases foisted on them by the Christian missionary mafia, with a helping hand from the administration.
The Legal Rights Protection Forum, an NGO which champions the cause of fighting for human rights of people who resist predatory illegal conversions, has brought to light the recent illegal activities and intimidatory tactics employed by conversion mafia in Gurujala, Nandavaram Mandal of Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh.
A huge illegal Church has been constructed by encroaching on common village land or the Gram Sabha land in Gurujala, Nandavaram Mandal of Kurnool district. Notably, this Church has been planted in an area where there are hardly any Christians with an aim to promote conversion activities using the Church as a base. Pertinently, the entire Mandal of 19 villages in the area has only 59 Christians as per 2011 census, so the wicked aim of conversions and taking over public property by the dubious Christian missionary is quite evident as daylight.
When the local Hindu villagers protested against the blatant encroachment on common land by the Christian missionary, they were physically threatened and also slapped with false SC/ST atrocity cases. The converted Christian evangelists, have fraudulently obtained SC/ST certificates by suppressing the fact of their conversions to Christianity. These rabid Christians use their SC/ST card and file fraudulent caste-based atrocities cases to harass all those who resist illegal conversions and encroachments.
These local Hindu villagers are harassed by arresting them on false charges with the help of local administration by blatant misuse of the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act. The aggrieved villagers have filed a complaint with the President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind , copy of which was sent to District Collector too seeking following actions:
- Removal of the illegal IMB Church constructed in the village.
- Taking suitable actions against illegal religious conversions targeting the Sc community.
- Action against people and organisations misusing the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act.
- Further action against competent authorities for illegally issuing SC/ ST Certificates to Christian converts in direct contravention of law.
It is now becoming a regular practice to silence activists and locals who raise their voices against the fraudulent conversion business of the dubious Christian converts possessing SC caste Certificates by harassing them with false cases under the SC/ST Act. This needs to be curbed by taking appropriate actions against these nefarious traders of Jesus.
