Allahabad High Court on Monday while delivering a judgement requested the Parliament to bring law to honour Prabhu Shri Ram, Shri Krishna, Gita, Ramayana because they are India’s culture and traditions and should be respected in any case.
Single judge Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav made these observations while granting bail to one Akash Jatav alias Surya Prakash, accused of making obscene remarks against Lord Rama and Krishna on Facebook. While delivering his judgement he said “Culture of India incomplete without Lord Ram:” He went on to further add ” Ram resides in the heart of every citizen of this country, he is the soul of India. The culture of this country is and India is incomplete without Rama.” This time the Court also opined that there is a need to educate children by making them (referring to Shri Rama, Shri Krishna, Gita, Ramayana, Maharishi Valmiki a compulsory subject in all the schools of the country. Recently, the same judge had, while denying bail to a person accused of cow slaughter, said that cow is part and parcel of the culture of India and should be declared national animal.
These observations made by single judge, Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav might take away the sleep of a particular lobby whose main source of income comes through abusing Hindu gods and culture.
