In Sirma village of Barkagaon block, on Sunday, MLA Amba Prasad took the initiative to establish Hindu-Muslim brotherhood. After meeting both the parties and the Anjuman Committee, she made the victims tie rakhi to the perpetrators who insulted them for not converting. After getting Rakhi tied by the victim girls, men of Muslim community promised to protect the victims and her family.

According to reports, of Prabhat khabar, the victim’s mother Kiran Devi told the MLA that the people of Muslim had made arrangements for her husband’s treatment. Kiran Devi said, “My husband was suffering from cancer. We did not have money for treatment. At that time no organization came forward to help. Then the people of our Muslim society had donated themselves from every household and got them admitted to the Cancer Hospital in Mumbai and got treatment.” A peace march will be taken out on 22 August under the leadership of the victim’s mother Kiran Devi.

However, no security or assistance was provided to the victim family to save themselves in future.

Meanwhile, Hindu families who live in the Muslim dominated Sirma village in the Barkagaon police station region of Hazaribagh have been repeatedly harassed by Muslims. Earlier, daughter of Kiran Devi was made hold her ears while pressurising her to convert. Wasim, Mukhiya Ishrat Jahan’s son, and more than ten other people allegedly broke into Kiran Devi’s home on the night of August 10 and kidnapped her daughters. Kiran Devi said that both of her little daughters were harassed and insulted in the soggy mud outside.

Not only this, The girls were slapped and ordered to perform sit-ups while holding their ears. Kiran Devi told Dainik Jagran that she was encircled by 15-20 people including Muslim ladies, the day after she went to the Panchayat Samiti to file a report about the incident. They all began forcing Kiran Devi to convert to Islam. They warned her that if she wanted to stay in the village, she would have to convert to Islam or suffer the wrath of God.

The victim’s family was instead the target of a police case. Police initiated an investigation after accusing the victim’s family of inciting religious hatred.

Now, when the news is in mainstream media, Congress MLA gets up to cover up big insult with a Rakhi. What if in future the family has to face more horrible consequences?
