“Queen” Elizabeth II is now dead at age 96. She is supposed to have met death in a peaceful manner at Balmoral Castle – her estate in the Scottish Highlands.
As all the juicy TV and Netflix documentaries showed that no one, including Elizabeth, had full confidence in moody and gloomy Charles as heir. Charles however will be the new “King” at age 73. The shows have tried their best to paint the “royals” as just like us – with the same types of problems, but let’s be real, do their lifestyle and opulence generate true sympathy in a normal person struggling to seek a solid job and pay gas and light bills?
The so-called “royals,” who are not even truly British by ancestry seem to have outlived their use and welcome. Maintenance of the estates and frivolous butlers and staff seems like a very bad idea during the time of a global recession.
The commonwealth nations are probably rejoicing but there will be some brown and black sahibs who will cry themselves to sleep now that their master is dead. They however might enjoy the new Master who is in bed with Islamists and their oil wealth.
While Bharatiyas can’t really retrieve any of the looted wealth that the “royals” have enjoyed for decades, it is important to bring up something that is worth $400 million or more – the 109-carat diamond which weighs 21.6 grams.
This diamond is a symbol of all things bad and colonial that Indians had to endure during the British stint in India. The kohinoor sits on the Queen’s crown along with other crown jewels, all estimated to be 10-12 billion dollars.
Some apologists are claiming that the British did not take the diamond but (duffers) in India gifted it to the British as a failed Atithi Devo Bhava policy.
The only funny thing about this situation is the supposed curse of the kohinoor. It is believed that the one who owns the diamond will own the world but also know all of its misfortunes.
Well, India should still want its rightful share of the loot back. Maybe Victoria will experience the predicted misfortunes in her next life?
