The name of Popular Front of India (PFI) is coming to the fore in the investigation of the violence in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri. The police team is keeping an eye on about 20 people associated with the student wing of PFI. Police sources say that if the role of people associated with the student wing of PFI in the violence has come to the fore. People of this organization were active in Jahangirpuri area before the violence in large numbers. In such a situation, now those whose names are coming out, they can be included in the investigation. Police officials say that if the role of any person or organization is found in violence, then strict action will be taken against them. It is to be known that the role of PFI was also found in the riots in North-East Delhi and the police had also included its name in its charge sheet.
According to police sources, the people of PFI have been accused of funding in the violence that took place in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh on April 16. It has also been revealed in the investigation of Delhi Police that in Jahangirpuri area, about 100 people belonging to the student wing of PFI were present in Jahangirpuri area before and after the violence. In such a situation, now the Delhi Police is investigating what these people were doing during the violence, where they were present and with whom they were in contact. Not only this, the police is suspecting people associated with the organization of funding as well as conspiring to save and abscond the accused. Police officials say that if the involvement of people associated with the organization comes to the fore in the investigation, then some people will be included in the interrogation.
Barricading removed from the roads, life of people in the riot-affected area of Jahangirpuri has started returning on track. On Monday, police barricades were removed from all roads except the road leading from Kushal Cinema to Jama Masjid. Due to this the movement of four wheelers started in the area. At the same time, about 60 percent shops remained open in the area. People were also seen shopping. Police is also continuously appealing to the people to maintain peace.
