The caste certificate of Manoj Kumar Verma, assistant professor in the Faculty of Social Sciences in Banaras Hindu University, has been found to be fake. Originally, Manoj Kumar Verma, resident of village Garla under Chakia tehsil of Chandauli district, being a Kahar caste under backward class, got a certificate of Scheduled Tribe Kharwar from Baini village of Robertsganj tehsil of Sonbhadra district. In this regard, Anant Narayan Mishra, resident of Chaturbhajpur Sakaldiha of Chandauli district had complained in Sonbhadra district.
A five-member committee constituted under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate found this certificate to be fake after investigation. The inquiry committee has canceled the caste certificate. In the investigation conducted in Chandauli, two gram panchayat officers have been suspended considering them to be participants in the code creation. This order of the inquiry committee of Sonbhadra has come on 21 April.
After this investigation report came to the fore, the sword has started hanging on Manoj Kumar’s job, at present the BHU administration is denying any such information, but after the letter reaches officially, action is also believed to be taken. When the inquiry committee investigated the accused Manoj Kumar’s family, maternal relatives and relatives, it was found that all his relatives belong to the Kahar caste. After getting the caste certificate made in a fake way, Manoj had torn the page of the family register after meeting the Gram Panchayat officials. While Manoj’s father Kanhaiya Prasad was working in District Co-operative Bank in Mirzapur district, his caste was registered there.
The research student had complained to the commission :
Anant Narayan Mishra, the complainant, is a research student of Manoj Kumar. In 2019, after a case of molestation with a student came to light, angry students garlanded Assistant Professor Manoj Kumar with shoes and slippers. After this Manoj filed a case against those students under SC ST Act. Since Anantnarayan was also a student of Manoj’s home district, he lodged a complaint with the SST commission after coming to know about this fraud. When the matter was investigated, it was found to be true.
