On 16th of November, Madras High Court came with a judgement to bring some happines to the Hindus regarding the usage of temple funds in various activities.

The Court was hearing a petition filed by the president of the ‘Temple Worshippers Society’ challenging a government order dated October 6, 2021 that paved the way for setting up of colleges using funds from temples.

The order was given by the order passed by now-transferred Chief Justice Sanjib Banerjee and Justice PD Audikesavalu who categorically stated that no new colleges to be set up using the funds of temples and the existing ones must have a course on Sanatan Dharma. They directed that four colleges set up from these funds, for which admissions are completed, will have to start courses on the Hindu religion within a month.

It must be noted that the hindu temples in Tamil Nadu is under the state control. No other religious institutions are under state control neither mosque nor Church. But only temples are under state control whose funds are bring wring used for various works.
