Bharat Biotech gave a tight slap on the cheeks of “The Wire”. Bharat Biotech earlier filed a defamation suit of 100 crore against The Wire for publishing defamatory articles and false articles against an Indian multinational biotechnology company, Bharat Biotech.

Additional District Judge at Ranga Reddy District Court in a ₹100 crore defamation suit filed by Bharat Biotech against The Wire ordered the so called news publication to take down 14 articles it wrote against Bharat Biotech and Covaxin which had incorrect and false information to defame the multinational biotechnology company, Bharat Biotech.

The defamation suit was filed Siddharth Vardarajan, Sidharth Roshanlal Bhatia and MK Venu, and nine others of The Wire who wrote the articles against Bharat Biotech and Covaxin. Senior Counsel K Vivek Reddy, appearing for Bharat Biotech, argued that The Wire had published articles which contained false allegations against Bharat Biotech and COVAXIN with a malicious intent to undermine the reputation of the company.

The Telangana Court recognised the wrong done by “The Wire”.Telangana Court directed The Wire to take down 14 articles against Bharat Biotech, covaxin in ₹100 crore defamation suit and also restrained “The Wire”, Siddharth Vardarajan,SR Bhatia, M.K. Venu and others from publishing defamatory and false articles relating to Bharat Biotech and covaxin.
