Eknath Shinde filed a petition with the Supreme Court asking for a stay on the notifications that Deputy Speaker Narhari Zirwal had given to 16 renegade Shiv Sena MLAs.
Meanwhile, on Monday, June 27, renowned attorney Harish Salve will defend the Shinde camp before the supreme court.
Abhishek Manu Singhvi, the leader of the Congress, will represent the Uddhav Thackeray faction of the Sena in court.

Other than that, Kapil Sibal, will be defending Deputy speaker.
Justices Surya Kant and J. B. Pardiwala will sit on a vacation bench to hear the case.

To keep the State’s peace and order, Maharashtra’s governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has asked for the deployment of more central security forces. The occurrence happened in the midst of incendiary comments made by the Uddhav Thackeray camp.
