Government of India Ban 118 more Chinese Mobile Applications Including Popular Mobile Game PUBG, amid tension growing at LAC with China.

On 2nd September, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology issue a press release  which have list of 118 Chinese Mobile Applications and they are banned from India. Ministry Said, The apps have been banned as they are engaged in activities prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, Defense of India, the security of the state and public order. This list contains Popular Mobile Game PUBG (Player’s Unknown Battlegrounds) and which has over 117 million users in India. This list also Includes We Chat, We Chat Work and apps Like U-Dictionary which has over 60 million user base in India.

The Ministry also said that they have received many complaints from other sources that users data is stealing and transmitting in other servers outside India.

The government of India already banned 59 Chinese Mobile apps in June, This year which includes short video popular app TikTok.  Following this again the Indian Government banned 43 other Chinese apps in July. After this, List has now reached 230 Chinese apps which are banned in India.

We can also see this as an opportunity for Indian Start-ups to get into this market and can replace these apps. In Mann Ki Baat last week, PM Narendra Modi also stated that we should promote our Indian Apps.
