In Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, a Muslim youth is severely thrashed for aiding Hindu worshippers of Bhagwan Shiva who are participating in the Kanwar Yatra during the current month of Shravan. In the early hours of Tuesday, July 26, 2022, unidentified attackers used weapons to attack a young man called Qazi Farhan. In this attack, Qazi Farhan suffered serious injuries. Farhan suffered a significant head injury, a fractured nose, and injuries to his left eye and eyelid in this attack.

Farhan said that he was attacked because he served the Kanwariyas and had darshan at a temple. The police have reported this incident. In a statement to Dainik Jagran, Farhan claimed that on Tuesday night, when he was serving guests at the camp put up close to his home, a few miscreants entered the camp and began creating a commotion.

He continued to observe them and saw that they had saffron stoles around their necks. When the criminals spotted Qazi Farhan, they surrounded him and said, “He is the one.” He was attacked multiple times by the assailants. Both of the perpetrators ran from the scene as more people came after watching the disturbance. Farhan claimed that the attackers stole his chain and attempted to kill him with a sharp object.

He has reported the incident to the police in this instance. Qazi Farhan visited the temple of Goddess Shakambhari a few days ago to receive Darshan. He also provided water and fruits to the Kanwariyas who were passing by the shrine in order to serve them. Farhan claims that it wasn’t until this episode that he began getting threats on social media.
