Opposition parties like Congress, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), RJD, Trinamool Congress objected to the new recruitment scheme and said it should be withdrawn. He also submitted a written memorandum to the Defense Minister in which there has been a demand to reconsider this plan. The MPs who signed the memorandum are Shakti Singh Gohil, Rajni Patil (Congress), Supriya Sule (NCP), Saugata Roy and Sudip Bandopadhyay (Trinamool Congress) and AD Singh of RJD.
