Welcome to Canada!

Canada embraces thriving entrepreneurs who are seeking new opportunities and challenges. The Business Immigration Program encourages and facilitates the admission of these individuals. In addition, the governments welcome business immigrants and offer services to help immigrants start a business and settle in Canada.

Entrepreneur Program

The Canadian immigration Entrepreneur Program aims to attract experienced entrepreneurs who intend to own and manage a business in Canada. This Canadian immigration program seeks to grow the Canadian economy while creating new jobs for Canadian citizens and permanent Canadian residents.

In a snapshot of Immigration to Canada in 2019, The Honorable Marco E. L. Mendicino, Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship, confirms that Canada welcomed 341,180 permanent residents. Newcomers bring their heritage and culture, as well as their talent, ideas, and perspectives.

In the uncertain times of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Canadian government swiftly protected the businesses and people, adapting its response as the pandemic evolved. Canada extended its support for citizens, permanent residents, and small business owners, encouraging and inviting business immigrants to Canada.

The Canada Digital Adoption Program

To improve the recovery, employment, and development, the government is initiating the Canada Digital Adoption Program that aims to create jobs for thousands of young Canadians and support over 160,000 small- and medium-sized businesses choose new digital technologies.

Budget 2021 intends to grant $1.4 billion over four years, beginning in 2021-22 to:

  • Work with businesses Canada-wide to offer access to skills, training, and advisory services for all organizations entering this program.
  • Dispense micro-grants to smaller, main street businesses to support costs associated with technology adoption.
  • Canada-wide acquires new technology to create job opportunities and training for over 28,000 young people to help small- and medium-sized companies.

Budget 2021 intends to grant $2.6 billion over four years, on a cash basis, beginning in 2021-22, to the BDC (Business Development Bank of Canada) to support small- and medium-sized businesses’ finance technology adoption.

For a strategic Canada’s economic recovery to take root, businesses must invest in new technologies and advanced capital projects. Building on the solid tax incentives introduced in the 2018 Fall Economic Statement, additional assistance is required to boost further business investments that will continue to create jobs now and in the future.
