According to the Times Now, the incident occurred outside Mahbubnagar’s Masjid-e-Rahmath mosque, where hundreds of Islamists had assembled to protest insults made about Prophet Muhammad. The gathering reportedly sang anti-BJP slogans and handed over a paper to the Collector seeking stern punishment against Nupur Sharma, the former BJP spokesperson.
During the outcry, however, the Indian tricolor was vandalized by Islamists, who replaced the Ashok Chakra with a Kalma. Kalma, which literally means “word,” is a declaration or expression of the faith of Muslims.
Massive protests erupted in many locations across the country on Friday, June 10th, against Nupur Sharma, who is being targeted by Islamists for reading Islamic Hadiths on the Prophet Muhammad in a news debate. A large crowd gathered outside Delhi’s Jama Masjid after today’s Friday Namaz in protest of suspended BJP spokeswoman Nupur Sharma. Images from the scene showed Muslims chanting anti-BJP slogans and demanding the arrest of ex-BJP spokesperson and former BJP leader Naveen Kumar Jindal.
Meanwhile, an effigy BJP’s Nupur Sharma was seen hanging in Belagavi, Karnataka, highlighting the gloomy tenor of the nation’s demonstrations days after AltNews co-founder Mohammed Zubair dog-whistled about her views on Prophet Muhammad.
Islamists’ violent rallies against former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma have now reached Ranchi, the state capital of Jharkhand. Violent protests erupted in the city over what a horde of Muslim demonstrators dubbed Nupur Sharma’s “blasphemous” remarks. Section 144 has been imposed in Ranchi following the demonstrations.
Similar incidents were reported in Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, where Muslim demonstrators went on the rampage after delivering Friday Namaz, screaming nasty chants against former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma and causing peace and order concerns in the city.
