BJP state chief K Surendran while addressing media on Sunday said that if the BJP comes to power will bring a law against love jihad like the one introduced by Uttar Pradesh.

He also stated that all the Devaswom boards in the State would be dissolved if the coalition came to power.

Surendran said, ‘If the BJP assumes power, Devaswom boards will be dissolved. Temples should be given to the devotees. Both the Fronts (LDF & UDF) are deceiving people in Sabarimala issue. They have ho sincerity in solving the problems. They raise the issue only when the elections approach. The government should be ready to withdraw all cases filed during Sabarimala protests time.”

Mr. Surendran demanded that both the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the United Democratic Front (UDF) clarify their stand on the ‘love jihad’ issue.

He accused them of maintaining silence even after Christian organisations raised serious concern against targeted love jihad cases of entrapping Christian girls.

Mr. Surendran also alleged that a section of minorities were being discriminated against while implementing policies designed for them.

He alleged that temples are being destroyed due to political parties running their writ on the Devaswom boards. He said that the BJP would free temples from political interference. He added, “We will hand over the temples to devotees.”

He challenged the political parties claiming to support the devotees to declare in their poll manifesto that the boards would be liberated from political interference.

He accused both the LDF and the UDF of fooling the people in the name of Sabarimala in view of the upcoming Assembly elections.

He said that Congress president Rahul Gandhi had positioned himself against the devotees and none of the Congress leaders had sought protection of customs.

The Congress leaders in Kerala only changed their stance against the SC verdict of allowing women from 10-50 years age group to be allowed to visit the Sabarimala Temple against the age old tradition and culture.

Srendran accused the LDF of targeting BJP, Sangh and other Hindu activists for protesting against the LDF government to forcibly implement entry of women of 10-50 years age group in Sabarimala while no cases were registered against the Congress leaders by the LDF, thus suggesting a tacit understanding between the two for anti-Hindu causes.
