The Summer Festival starts on the day of Buddha Poornima in the Vaisakha month (May) of the Hindu calendar and the winter festival starts during the middle of the Posh month (December) of the Hindu calendar

Mount Abu is set on a high rocky plateau in the Aravalli Range and surrounded by forest and offers a relatively cool climate and views over the arid plains below. In the center of the hilly town, is beautiful Nakki Lake which is a popular spot for boating.
The summer festival is celebrated for three days which rejoices Rajasthani folk culture & traditions. Along with cultural concerts, the festival also organizes horse racing, skating races, tug of war, boating races in Nakki Lake, and live band shows.
However, Key attractions during the summer festival are Gair, Ghoomar, and Daph folk dances along with Sham-e-Qawwali.
The Winter Festival brings together artisans and artists from different corners of the state to showcase various forms of art, handicrafts, food, and culture.
Among the most famous fairs and festivals of Rajasthan, Key attractions are deep Daan arti (Prayer), poetry sessions, kite flying, and rowing competitions. The festival ends with stunning fireworks in the evening.
