There are some myths about Hindu festival Raksha Bandhan that are being propagated for a long time. Some of these are- 1) the popular story of Bhagwan Krishna and Draupadi where Bhagwan Krishna got his little finger cut while handling sugarcane and then Draupadi cuts off a piece of cloth from her Saree and ties Krishna’s finger to stop the flow of blood. In return, Krishna promised to help her out whenever required. Krishna then goes on to help Draupadi during her Vashtraharan by dushashan.

2) Leftist Historians try tooth and nail to whitewash the black deeds of Mughals. They have also used Hindu festival Raksha Bandhan to do the same. These leftist Historians popularized a fake story about the origins of Raksha Bandhan where they presented the white version of Mughal Emperor Humayan. We all must have heard this version. The story of Rani Karnavati and Mughal Emperor Humayun. Karnavati was the Queen of Mewar and wife of Rana Sanga who ruled after the demise of her husband. Bahadur Shah of Gujarat attacked Mewar for the second time. Rani Karnavati began looking for support from other kingdoms. Meanwhile, Karnavati also wrote to Humayun for help. She sent him a rakhi and sought protection. The Mughal emperor was in the middle of another military campaign when he received the call for help along with the Rakhi. Humayun left all his military campaigns underway and turned his attention to Mewar. But the story holds no mole of truth and has popped up from the brains of Hindu hating distortions oh sorry Historians.
