The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is again raiding the premises of the Popular Front of India (PFI) in connection with terror funding. The NIA team has been conducting raids in many states since Tuesday morning. More than 200 people have been detained in 8 states during the raids. Also, some people have been arrested. The states where the raids are being conducted include UP, Delhi, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, and Assam.

A large number of PFI radicals have been detained in Karnataka. Police officer Alok Kumar said that more than 75 members of PFI and SDPI have been detained as a precautionary measure. It also includes the district head of SDPI. Apart from this, 10 people have also been detained in Gujarat.

In Assam and Maharashtra, more than 50 PFI terrorists have also been detained. 25 PFI extremists have been detained by the Assam Police, compared to 27 by the Maharashtra Police. Ten persons have been taken into custody in Assam’s Goalpara district. In Maharashtra, the district president, secretary, and cashier of PFI were all detained.

Police sources claim that raids have been carried out at PFI facilities in Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh and Nizamuddin neighborhoods. Delhi Police and NIA are working together to run this campaign. In the raid, more than 4 persons have been taken into custody. Shaheen Bagh now abides by Section 144.

Additionally, raids are occurring at PFI locations in Bihar. About 15 PFI goons have been taken into custody by ATS in Bhojpur’s Kalchina. They were all taken to the Modinagar police station.

In the state, NIA and ATS have conducted raids at 7 locations, including Indore, Ujjain, and Shajapur. It has been reported that raids have been taking place here since three in the morning. Saeed Taylor, a district committee member, and PFI secretary Yousuf were the targets of raids in the city.

NIA team has also conducted raids in a few UP locations. In Bulandshahr and Meerut, NIA has conducted raids. Numerous PFI members have also been nabbed in UP, according to NIA sources.

Earlier, on September 22, 93 PFI locations across 15 states had been searched by the NIA, ED, and other authorities. 106 people were detained during the operation, including PFI President OMA Salman, P Koya, E Abubakar, Ilamram, and CP Mohammad Baseer. Important papers pertaining to financing and terrorist activity were also found during this.

Some documents were also reportedly discovered during the operation, according to a senior NIA officer. This demonstrates that PFI is engaged in terrorist actions in the nation, training young people to become terrorists, inciting riots, killing innocent people, and indoctrinating the youth with hate so they will join the global terrorist group Islamic State (ISIS).
