Kamal Haasan’s claims to practice ‘secular’ politics is exposed by his political outfit, Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) alliance with the brazenly jihadist social Democratic Party (SDPI) a political front of the Popular Front of India (PFI) which is under NIA investigation for terror links.
Kamal Haasan’s MNM and the SDPI have come to a seat sharing settlement, where the SDPI would be contesting 18 seats. Notably, the SDPI/PFI has been in news for creating communal tensions and violence in the country.
Pertinently, many state governments like Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka have sought for a ban on the PFI/SDPI. The PFI shot to fame when Kerala professor TJ Joseph’s (left) right palm was chopped off by member of the PFI KA Najeeb (right) in 2010 for some questions on Prophet Mohammad. The PFI has also murdered several Hindu activists in Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, like Prashant Poojary, Vellaippan, Ramalingam etc.
The PFI is also under the scanner of NIA for funding and staging violent protests against the CAA. The NIA has also indicated the involvement of the SDPI in the charge sheet in the last year’s Bangalore violence case which 47 of its workers are accused as violent rioters in the case.
It is surprising that for all the high moral ground stances and sermons adopted by Kamal Haasan, he does not seem to have any qualms with partnering with a virtual Islamist jihadist organisation like the PFI/SDPI. This move exposes the true face of so-called ‘secular’ ‘liberal’ Kamal Haasan, where secularism and liberalism has a perverted meaning of appeasing and partnering with jihadist Islamist organisations like the SDPI/PFI.
