It is observed that Trinamool Congress is in turmoil over the distribution of tickets for municipal seats. Sanmoy Banerjee,a very astute observer of West Bengal politics, known for running a Bengali video portal ‘Banglar Barta’,has made a few very insightful observations about the turmoil inside Trinamool (TMC). These observations are listed down by Tathagata Roy who served as the Governor of Tripura from 2015 to 2018 and the Governor of Meghalaya from August 2018 to the end of his term in August 2020. Here the observations which are listed down. –
Sanmoy Banerjee,a very astute observer of West Bengal politics, known for running a Bengali video portal ‘Banglar Barta’,has made a few very insightful observations about the turmoil inside Trinamool (TMC). But before that,a few words on the background.
A huge fire had broken out inside the ruling party in West Bengal over the distribution of tickets for municipal seats. With the BJP emasculated, CPI(M) leaderless and Congress a gone case,a ticket from TMC would mean a sure win; and that would mean a carte blanche for amassing crores of Rupees through tolabaazi (extortion) and other forms of corruption. Hence the fire.
A huge number of lower-level leaders who didn’t get tickets are VERY upset: and that means they might sabotage the party’s chances. So in order to deflect the fire away from herself and Abhishek, Machiavellian Mamata has totally dissociated Abhishek from West Bengal politics and sent him to Goa for chasing wild geese there. She has deliberately created confusion by posting a candidate list on the website and publishing another signed list. Now she is picking a got-up fight with Prashant Kishore (PK),blaming him for that confusion and threatening him with termination of the contract. Eventually there will be peace. Abhishek will remain her dearest nephew and she won’t dream of going into the 2024 elections without PK.All this from Sanmoy, not me; but it sounds highly plausible. After all it is PK who manipulated the rotten KDSA team (not that they didn’t like it ) of the BJP and got Mamata 200-plus seats in the 2021 West Bengal Assembly election.
