Kaal Khand

According to Sanatan Dharma texts, after the creation of the universe, the supreme father Brahma ji divided the time into four sections. Which are known as Satya yug, Dwapar yug, Treta yug and Kal yug. According to Hindu Puranas, Kaal Khand starts with Satyug and ends at Kaliyuga or kali yug. After the end of Kalyuga, Satyug starts again and this cycle has been going on continuously since the creation of the universe. The kaal khand (time block) in which we are living today is the 23rd cycle of change of kaal khand. Now you must be thinking that what would have been so different in these four kaal khand (time blocks) which Brahma ji had to divide the kaal khand into four parts. So friends, we get the answer in the Linga Purana of Sanatan Dharma. In which what is the difference between these four kaal khands is explained in detail that how the changes in the era also change the characteristics of humans. First of all, we will know about Satya Yug together.

satya yug

Satyayuga is also called the Age of Truth. Lies do not exist in this age because human beings make the mental level superior, due to which there is no need to speak to talk. A person who can read each other’s mind cannot lie. In this era, the life of a human being is also one lakh years because a person improves the level from physical knowledge to mental knowledge, due to which there is no feeling of illness or pain. Four pillars of religion are present in this age. This era is of 1728000 years. In the Mahabharata, there is a special opinion of Satyayug that after Kali Yuga, Lord Vishnu will come to earth in the form of Kalki and religion will win over unrighteousness. Lord Kalki will once again establish Satya Yuga by ending sin, adharma, tyranny and injustice from the earth. At present man gives more importance to material pleasures but Lord Kalki will make humans realize that mental pleasures are more important than physical pleasures. In such a situation, when the golden age begins, then man will start giving importance to mental happiness will give up material happiness.

According to Sanatan Dharma Lord Kalki is going to destroy all the evils from the earth, but it is believed that Satya Yuga started on the day of Akshay Tiltiya. This era was of 1,728,000 years and the holy pilgrimage of this era was Pushkar. Now I am going to tell you some surprising things about Satya Yuga, which you will be shocked to hear. Lord Vishnu took four incarnations in Satyayuga. These avatars were Matsya Avatar, Kurma Avatar, Barha Avatar and Narasingha Avatar. Lord Vishnu took this incarnation to kill Shankhasur, to save the Vedas, to take away the weight of the earth, to kill Hiranya Kashyap and took it to save the devotee Prahlad. The story of Harish Chandra, a descendant of Lord Shri Ram, is also of Satyayug. The currency of this era was of Ratna like Diamond, Pearl, Emerald, Neelam, Kukraj etc. The utensils of Satyug were made of gold metal. The man of the satyayug was omnipotent. That is, his attitude, renunciation, penance, truthful conduct, truthful words, non-violence, devotion to God, love, cooperation and friendship towards nature used to be fierce. Satyayug was the best age. In this era, humanity was full of code in everything.

In the satyayug, all human beings had only one religion and that was Sanatan Dharma. All human beings of the satyayug give up selfishness, that is, no human being was selfish. Everyone used to help each other, in that era no human being had any kind of disease. The reason for which is that man keeps all his senses under his control. No one used to see the shortcomings in anyone, not only this, the people of Satya yug were never sad, due to which even tears did not come out of their eyes. In that era, there was neither pride nor other vices in anyone. Humans did not fight among themselves and lived with love. It is further told in the Brahma Purana that the people of Satya Yuga were very agile, what was laziness, no one knew at that time. The biggest feature of the people of Satya Yuga used to be that they neither had hatred towards anyone nor used to slander anyone, neither jealous of anyone nor did anyone consider himself stronger than anyone. In Satya Yuga, human beings used to perform their duties. In Satya Yuga, all classes of human beings can perform all rituals for the purpose of Sarva Brahm Parmatma. The time of all the human beings of this age was used to do the works of Dharma Karma. Everyone used to worship the Supreme Father, the Supreme Soul, women were respected. People of all varnas were given equal opportunities in fields like education, weaponry etc. The woman used to follow her wife’s religion faithfully after her marriage. Children also obeyed their parents and used to serve them a lot in old age. The people of Satya Yuga, by performing rituals related to the ashram, which were performed from time to time, attained supreme speed due to the desire for the fruits of their deeds and not having attachment. According to the Puranas, the length of humans in this era was 32 feet. According to the Puranas, the length of humans in this era was 32 feet. And humans can leave their body according to their wish.

treta yuga

When the period of Satya Yuga was over, then the second era of the new era i.e. period of time, Treta Yuga began. In Treta Yuga, human beings perform their duties, but they are not able to maintain control over their senses as compared to the humans of Satya Yuga. In this age, slowly it starts to limit itself in itself, that is, selfishness starts growing in them, they start scolding others. Also, in this age the feeling of jealousy starts to awaken in the human beings, although the number of such human beings is less. In this age, the society begins to be divided into Varnashrama i.e. Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and Shudras. However, in this age, women of this age follow their religion even after the disappearance of religion as compared to the Satya Yuga. Men also did not cheat on their wives. Children also served their parents a lot. According to the Puranas, the average age of the Puranas in this era was 10,000 years. And the period of this era was 12 lakh 96 thousand years.

Lord Vishnu had three incarnations in Treta Yuga. And these incarnations were Vamana Avatar, Rama Avatar and Parashurama Avatar. Vamana was the fifth incarnation of Lord Vishnu and the first incarnation of Treta Yuga. When Prahlad’s grandson Bali, who was the king of the demons, took control of the heavenly world, then all the gods reached before Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu assured all the Gods that he would bring back the kingdom of heaven to them after being born from the womb of Dev Mata Aditi. After some time Lord Vishnu incarnated as Vamana. Once King Bali organized a very big yagya, Bali was known as a very big donor. Lord Vaman asked for a donation from Bali, in which three steps of earth were asked for donation. Shukracharya, the guru of King Bali, understood this leela of God. He had refused to donate to Bali. But still Bali promised to donate three steps of earth. Then God measured the earth and heaven in the second, when there was no space left to keep the third step, Bali himself put his head forward and said You put the third step here. When the Lord kept a step on the head of Bali, he reached the Sutal Lok. Seeing the spirit of sacrifice, God declared him the lord of Sutla Lok. And thus Lord Vishnu incarnated as Vamana and returned all the deities to heaven.

In the Treta Yuga, the sixth incarnation of the Lord appeared in the form of Lord Parashurama. According to the story of this incarnation, in ancient times, in the city of Maheshmati, there was the power of the mighty Kshatriya Sahsatra Bahu. He was extremely tyrannical and arrogant. Once Agni Dev requested him that he should give him food, then in pride, Sahastra Bahu replied, I have my secret everywhere, you can get food from wherever you want, then Agni Dev felt humiliated and started burning the forests. In one of these forests, the sage was doing austerity penance, his hut was also burnt, then he got angry and cursed Sahastra Bahu. That Lord Vishnu himself will take the incarnation of Parashurama to destroy not only sahastra but all the Kshatriyas. And thus Lord Vishnu incarnated as Parashurama, the fifth son of Maharishi Jamadagni in the Bhargava clan. Lord Rama was the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu and the third incarnation of Treta Yuga. We are all familiar with the story of Ram ji. In Treta Yuga, all the gods were frightened by the terror of the demon king Ravana. Lord Vishnu took birth as the son of King Dasharatha and Queen Kaushalya to kill Ravana. In this incarnation, Lord Vishnu lived life walking in the incarnation of Dharma and Maryada. And thus Lord Vishnu took three incarnations in Treta Yuga.

Dwapar Yuga

After Treta Yuga comes Dwapara Yuga in which the two pillars of Dharma are reduced. An era when man starts thinking of ego for mental peace and more material happiness. An era when power was considered more than knowledge. Dwapara Yuga which is called the age of material knowledge. The time of this entire era was 8 lakh 64 thousand years. In this age only two pillars of religion remain i.e. truth and mercy. Whereas from its very beginning, austerity and purification were abandoned. The knowledge of austerity remains with no one while purification goes away from everyone’s mind. Only truth saves this era. Its quote is the war of Mahabharata in which mutual enmity arose due to lack of purification of mind. But the truth kept everyone tied. There was a sense of jealousy and jealousy throughout the war. But still no one gave up the truth. There was a war between Kauravas and Pandavas but that too under rules. In this age no one had the knowledge of the four Vedas except Lord Vishnu. In this era, knowledge was left with very few people, so questions started arising on the existence of God. There was no mental knowledge in this age. And only material works used to start life. Varnas were created in this era. Varna, that is, the way in which one does the work, how much knowledge he has, was used to determine the varna. Four varnas were created by the actions which are Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya, Shudra. The new born child was kept in the category of Shudra. And what he could do in life determined his character. Like Vidura was born in the house of a Shudra, became a minister of Hastinapur and was called a Brahmin.

In the Dwapar Yuga, devotion to God was started by worshiping the Deity. In this age, Lord Krishna took birth as the son of Vasudeva and Devaki. Dwapar Yuga is very important because in this era Lord Krishna preached the Gita. What is religion in the true sense, it was told in the form of Mahabharata war. There were many such cases in Dwapar Yuga which are inspirational for the people of tomorrow. Lord Krishna is the Supreme Father, the Supreme Soul, God himself appeared to teach what is Sanatan Dharma, how it should be followed. Where on one hand we saw that there was no sin at all, and a part of sin started appearing in Treta Yuga, on the other hand the number of sinners started increasing. In this era, sins and virtues were divided into 50 – 50 percent parts. That is, where many people used to do charity, the same number of people used to commit sins. Kansa is a better example of this being killed by Lord Krishna. In Dwapara Yuga, the life span of humans was 1000 years. The height of humans in this era was 11 feet. The currency of this era was silver and copper vessels were used. The era of Mahabharata lasted for 18 days in Dwapar Yuga. The Pandavas won the war. After getting the kingdom, the Pandavas handed over the entire royal path to Arjuna’s grandson Parikshik and went to the Himalayas to attain salvation. Lord Krishna also disappeared and from this the Kali Yuga started.

Kali yug or kal yug

Before knowing how the humans of Kali Yuga are, it is important for you to know that how these changes take place in humans according to the era. Actually, in Satya Yuga, the basis of religion was on four legs, which in Treta remained with legs , in Dwapar two and in Kali Yuga only one leg remains. Due to the disappearance of religion, there is also a change in the nature of human beings. Due to which, according to the age, work, troubles, diseases and conflicts start increasing in humans. In the same proportion, man starts discarding the Vedas. And in the last period i.e. when Kali Yuga comes, then in Kali Yuga, humans start killing Maya, Asuya and ascetics. In this age, human beings are irreligious, immoral, very angry and have low intelligence. In this age, everyone turns away from their duties. As Brahmins stop studying Vedas, Kshatriyas do not protect the subjects, people kill girls in the womb. In the Puranas, which has been called the murder of Brun, in this era, people of thief tendency attack the innocent people. In this age people sell the fruits of penance and sacrifice. Whether it is a woman or a man of Kaliyuga, no one follows their religion.

In this age, the respect of women remains negligible. Violence starts increasing due to increase in lust, anger, greed and selfishness. People start fighting with each other, start killing each other. Children do not serve their parents. She doesn’t even take their condition. In Kaliyuga, the height of a human being is reduced to 5 to 7 feet and the average age of humans is reduced to 70 to 80 feet. Friends, now you must be thinking that why the age and height of humans decreases with the change of age, so let me tell you that it is written in the Linga Purana that as the era changes, so does a person get away from nature and enjoyment gets absorbed in luxury. Due to which the body of people gets surrounded by many diseases and lust, anger, greed and tamasic qualities start increasing in humans. And he gets drowned in the ocean of anger and anxiety, due to which the length and age of humans decreases with time. In this Purana, the duration of Kali Yuga is described as 4 lakh 32 thousand years and when this period ends, a new cycle of creation begins. And once again the Satya Yuga begins. Of all the four ages, Kaliyuga has been described as the most cursed yuga. But the biggest feature of Kaliyuga is that only one day’s work of Dharam done in Kaliyuga is 10 years in Satyayuga, 1 year in Treta and 1 month in Dwapar. It is equal to the religion performed in 1 month and only by taking the name Hari in Kaliyuga, one gets liberation.
