A video is surfacing on the internet from Shibli National PG College in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, in which the President of the UP student union, Abdur Rehman is heard making outrageous statements over a statement made by Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Nupur Sharma.
Abdur Rehman is heard inciting the crowd in the video clip by saying, “She (Nupur Sharma) has committed blasphemy and insulted our Prophet. The situation of Muslims is such that their hands are chopped if the Holy number ‘786’ is engraved on them or if they post a picture of a lynching. But when the honour of our Prophet is compromised, no Muslim comes forward (to avenge it). Why? Because we have become scared, complacent and cowards.”

Abdur Rehman further added, “This is why I appeal to everyone present here to stand up for issues pertaining to our Faith and its last Messenger.”
Abdur Rahman warned that he is willing to trample 80 crore people (referring to the Hindu population) under his feet amid chants of Naara-e-Takbeer and Allahu Akbar. “Gustaak-e-Rasool ki ek hi saza, sarr tann see Juda (The only punishment for mocking Prophet Muhammad is beheading)”, the crowd was yelling.
After the contentious video went viral on social media, the Azamgarh cyber unit took cognizance of the issue and launched an investigation. Rahman was arrested and brought in for questioning, according to Azamgarh SP Anurah Arya.
A First Information Report (FIR) was filed, and the accused was charged with intentionally inciting religious emotions under section 295A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
