On Wednesday, an online uproar took place after union minister Hardeep Singh Puri announced the migration of Rohingyas to the flats meant for Economic Weaker Sections. Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs stated that they will also be provided with basic utilities and security. Later on, the Centre made it clear that no such instructions had been granted. The Delhi administration was further instructed by the Union Home Ministry to detain the Rohingya refugees there until their departure.
However, the AAP attacked the BJP on the matter. Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister of Delhi hit back and said that the Centre is now attempting to pin the responsibility on the Delhi government and claimed that the central government was attempting to give the Rohingyas a permanent home in Delhi.
Meanwhile, AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan is accused of systematically settling Rohingyas on the land owned by UP Irrigation Department’s Agra Canal land in the capital. Rohingya Muslims are living illegally on a large piece of land under the watchful eyes of the Delhi Police. They are residing illegally in front of the Madanpur Khadar cremation. The property owned by the Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department has been the site of this unlawful settlement.
Not only this, but they are also receiving all government facilities, which is surprising. The Delhi government and Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan are providing sufficient ration supplies to these camps throughout the lockdown. Along with stealing the lights, illegal water drilling has also been done in this Rohingya camp.
On the other side, the migrant laborer families residing in the surrounding slums are in desperate need of rations. Let us inform you that earlier Central Government had stated in court documents that Rohingya Muslims pose a threat to India’s security and that the government wants to deport them. Locals claim that this illegal camp is operating in collusion with the Kalindi Kunj police station to deal with illegal marijuana, smack, and other substances.
The Delhi Police has received numerous requests from RWAs to clear this unauthorized settlement, but nothing has been done as of yet. The Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department owns 5.2 acres of the property that the illegal Rohingyas are living on. This land, Khasra No. 612, is worth billions of rupees. which, thanks to police protection, is routinely occupied by unauthorized Rohingyas and Bangladeshis.
The residents of Kanchan-Kunj claimed that Rohingyas who are currently living illegally here used to reside at a Muslim leader’s abandoned land there. where, as part of the conspiracy, the slums were set on fire on April 17, 2018. They subsequently occupied illegally on UP irrigation property outside of Delhi. Around its camp, illegal Bangladeshis are also being settled. These Rohingyas have long resided in this region. The Delhi government and local MLA Amanatullah Khan have been termed responsible for settling illegal Rohingyas living in the camp on the Yamuna River’s banks full assistance. More than 300 people allegedly reside in this camp who steal water and electricity.
Former BJP MP from South-East Delhi Mahesh Giri earlier wrote to the Delhi Police to remove these Rohingyas. But AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan protested at that time. According to the report of Bhaskar as alleged by former MP Mahesh Giri, Rohingyas and Bangladeshis are being systematically settled in this area under the patronage of regional MLA Amanatullah Khan.
