- Hi….I have DELL STUDIO… I prefer only DELL Studio rather than any other Lap’s like HP.Dell is more reliable than HP or any other lap’s.As most of my friends are facing problems with HP,some of these are :Heating problemsLess battery backupLess reliability After one year most of the batteries will not work properly Where as in DELL studio there won’t be any such problems. Battery backup is 4-5 hrsNo heating problemsMore reliable…Looking nice….But only problem with DELL is having less number of service centers.But it is not a issue as we can get the support from any where by just calling to DELL customer care.

- I purchased Dell Inspiron N5010 now in jun 2010 and installed ubuntu 10.04 and kubuntu 10.04 on it. Its working perfectly with both. Ubuntu 9.04 was also installed earlier but didn’t support video resolution above 1024*768 out of the box. Ubuntu 10.04 supports resolution 1366 X 768 perfectly out of the box. Haven’t checked wifi though since i don’t use it. Need to install package usb_modeswitch to get my tata indicom usb modem which is a huawei ec1261 (photon plus) recognized correctly
- I purchased acer aspire 5745 , everything work fine using Debian Testing (squeeze) with some {hijacks}
