The personal Twitter account of Bhartiya Prime Minister Narendra Modi got hacked for minutes before it got restored back. The Twitter account of the Prime Minister’s Office of India confirmed the incident and cleared the air. The handle of PMO office tweeted “The Twitter handle of PM @narendramodi was very briefly compromised. The matter was escalated to Twitter and the account has been immediately secured. In the brief period that the account was compromised, any Tweet shared must be ignored.”

The hacked personal account of Bhartiya Prime Minister came with a tweet where it promoted Bitcoins. The tweet was made from the hacked account at 2:07am. The tweet said ” India has officially adopted Bitcoin as legal lender. The government has officially bought 500 Bitcoins and is distributing them to all residents of the country.” Similar incident had occurred with the Twitter handle of Narendra Modi’s personal website @narendramodi_in in September 2020, with a series of tweets asking followers to donate to a relief fund through cryptocurrency.

After the account was hacked, report was send to the Twitter and account was restored within few minutes.
