The meeting of two Heads of State is out in public. Zelensky-Trump meet on February 28, 2025, in Oval Office is all over international media.

Zelensky had diplomacy of 2019 in his mind when he said, what kind of diplomacy are you talking, Mr J D Vance?

J D Vance was talking of diplomacy of the instant, that is 2025.

In 2019, the agreement signed by Zelensky with Putin of Ceasefire and exchange of prisoners of war was violated by Putin, as stated by Zelensky in the meeting.

But as of 2025, neither Ukraine (nor Russia) has soldiers to continue this war. Peace is good for all parties except Europe.

Europe has been the Master of Diplomacy so far. The UK (then leader of Europe) won WW II on the backing and support of the USA. NATO was created in 1949, whereunder USA kept spending its committed share, with Europe not matching its commitment, as Trump had pointed out in his first term as POTUS.

Europe, under leadership of Germany, created European Union in 1993 and launched Euro in 1999 to challenge and replace USA and USD as the world leader and the world currency, respectively.

During 2008 Global Financial Crisis and Great Recession, EURUSD= 1.45

During Covid-19 economic recession (on March 19, 2020), EURUSD= 1.0658

On the day of Zelinsky- Trump meeting (February 28, 2025), EURUSD= 1.04

On January 11, 2025, ERUUSD= 1.0244.

The European Union is weak. The EURUSD says it all. The Europeans  had been the best diplomat on earth, making USA spend to provide defense cover against Russia and challenging USA economically.

It is in this context that Zelensky felt frustrated that his 2019 ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement, obviously done under NATO leadership, failed and NATO couldn’t do anything.

But J D Vance looked for diplomacy in 2025, when much water and money has flown ($350 Billion) since 2019. (Zelinsky, naively claiming, we have been a strong nation and fighting war alone. Without NATO (or USA’s $350 billion), certainly, this Ukraine- Russia war would not have prolonged thus far).

And Trump was right in calling previous American administration and President  Stupid for flowing $350 Billion for no economic gains to USA.

Trump and Vance are sent by Americans to Oval Office to implement “America First” and MAGA.

So, Trump is not inclined to spend American tax dollars in the name of NATO, where Europeans only promise and don’t shell out their share.

In this context, Europe stands Naked.

They are weak. They will not continue to have free ride in the name of NATO on the shoulders of Stupid America (administration).

Their diplomacy of 76 years (from NATO of 1949) is crumbling down.

So, best they can do is pronounce Trump, pro- Putin, pro- Communist Russia, criticize J D Vance in their funded media and echo-system.

The current European voice of solidarity with Zelensky is age-old European diplomacy.

Promise everything, do nothing.

Trump and Vance are totally common sense,  timely and topical.

Let’s hope Zelensky hears common sense and is not trapped in age-old European diplomacy.
