A Muslim couple wants to embrace Sanatan Dharma and do Ghar Wapsi and therefrom reached out to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adtiyanath to seek help in due process of voluntary conversion. It should be noted that the man who wants to embrace Sanatan Dharma is the former district president of Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen), Mohd Ruved Sabir. He along with his wife Samina Parveen have expressed their desire to embrace Sanatan Dharma and leave Islam. The couple said that they have been compelled to take the decision after they did not receive any help from the leaders and organisations of their own community.

A video of the wife of Former district president of AIMIM Mohd Ruved Sabir emerged on Twitter on April 11 where she was heard saying that she wants to do Ghar Wapsi since no one from her community has come forward to help them in her fight against her in-laws, who have been harassing her for dowry. She lashed out at the muslim leaders because no one came in support of her. The couple has also lodged a formal complaint to the Moradabad Police in this regard. In the complaint, the couple wrote about being unable to convert to a religion of their choice. The wife of former district president of AIMIM Mohd Ruved Sabir said that before marriage also her in-laws have asked for huge sum of dowry and that continued even after marriage.
