Surat, Gujarat: A 27-year-old Rahul Singh committed suicide by hanging in his house in Udhna, a suburban area of Surat on June 27th. The deceased left a note on his Facebook page holding his live-in partner Sonam Ali and her brother Mukhtar Ali responsible for torturing and force-feeding beef to him, due to which he took this extreme step.

Rahul Singh was a native of Uttar Pradesh and had started living in a relationship with Sonam Ali about a year ago and cut off his connection with his family who were not in favor of his relationship with Sonam.

The police complaint was filed by the deceased’s mother Vinadevi after learning about his son’s death from her relatives, who also informed her about Rahul’s suicide note on his Facebook page.

“The family has provided details regarding Rahul’s social media post,” police told the media, additionally police mentioned “they are also trying to get more information from the social media site regarding the date and time of the post”

As per the suicide note, Rahul Singh alleged that he was threatened to be killed if he would not consume beef and he is ending his life due to the torture by Sonam Ali and her brother Mukhtar Ali.
