This is the 18th edition of the military exercise between the armies of India and America. This exercise is held for one year in America and one year in India. According to the news agency, a source in the Defense Department said that this exercise between the two armies is going to be held from October 14 to 31. Sources said that the objective of the exercise is to increase understanding, cooperation and inter-operability between the armies of India and America. India-US defense ties have been getting stronger for the past few years. In June 2016, the US designated India as a “major defense partner”.

The two countries have also signed important defense and security agreements over the years, including a Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement (LEMOA) in 2016, which seeks to visit each other’s bases to repair and replenish weapons supplied to their militaries. Allows access and at the same time provides deep protection. The two armies also signed COMCASA (Communications Compatibility and Security Agreement) in 2018, which provides for interoperability between the two armies and provides for the sale of high technology from the US to India.

Chinese soldiers did nefarious activities in Barahoti

This time the exercise being held in Auli, Uttarakhand is also important because in September last year in the Barahoti area of ​​Uttarakhand, Chinese soldiers had done nefarious acts. Chinese soldiers had entered the Indian border for about 5 km. However, these soldiers had returned within a few hours. It is said that there is such a pasture in Barahoti, about which there is a dispute between the two countries. This pasture is spread over an area of ​​60 square kilometers.
